Pharmacologic action:

PharmacodynamicsThe product can combine with 50S subunit of 70S ribosome,restrain the extend of chain peptide, interfere protein synthesis. Florfenicol is a kind of high performance, quick effect, broad-spectrum antibacterial, antibacterial activity obviously advantage to chloromycin and thiocymetin. Florfenicol still has higher antibacterial activity to bacteriums which resistances to chloromycin and thiocymetin, and no potential hazard of leading to aplastic anemia.

PharmacokineticsThe product is well absorbed by oral administration, the blood concentration can achieve the peak value in one hour, bioavailability is 98%, body distribution is widespread, half life is long, effective blood concentration can keep to more than 20 hours. The metabolism of Florfenicol mainly by liver and kidney, majority of it be eliminated from urine in original shape .

Drug interaction

1. The product has synergy with tetracyclines.

2. Has antagonism with Cillimycin, Erythrocin, Streptomycin, Penicillins, FQNS etc.

3. It is forbidden to be used tighter with alkalinity medicine such as sulfamido, NaHCO3, aminophylline, artificial salt etc.

Application: antibacterial. Florfenicol can be used to prevent and cure respiratory infection of livestock and poultry caused by various infections.

Usage and Dosage:

Mix in water: Florfenicol 1g mix with water 10L, 3-5days continuously, 2 times per day.

Mix in feed: livestock: 60-80g mixed with 1000kg feed. Poultry: 80-120g mixed with 1000kg feed. Aquatic: 100g mixed with 1000kg feed, then used for 3-5days continuously.

Adverse effect: has embryotoxicity. It is forbidden to be used for pregnant animal.

Withdrawal timeswine: 20 days; fowl: 5 days
